Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Sports massage focuses on muscles relevant to the event. For athletes who train continuously, the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed for recovery. Prior to an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used in conjunction with stretching to help athletes loosen, warm and prepare their muscles to increase performance and endurance. Following an athletic event, Sports Massage may be used to relieve pain, prevent stiffness, and return muscles back to their normal state. Sports Massage may also be used for injury rehabilitation.
Pre-Natal Massage focuses on the mother-to-be as she goes through the changes due to pregnancy. This is not a replacement for medical care, but rather as an adjunct to aid in the health and rapid recovery of the mother. Pre-Natal massage therapy enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Neuromuscular Therapy has been found to be highly effective for physical pain resulting from a soft tissue injury, such as a muscle strain. It involves alternating levels of concentrated pressure on areas where there is muscle spasm or trigger points. This process tends to relax the muscles, which then release the lactic acid and allows the muscle to start receiving enough blood and oxygen. The goal of Neuromuscular Therapy is to bring balance between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system.
